Shipping gifts this year? Check the recommended mailing deadlines from the United States Postal Service to ensure packages get delivered in time for the holidays. Remember that your local Concord post office may be closed on weekends.

It feels like the holidays come earlier and earlier every year, especially if you need to send gifts to friends and family members across state lines and international borders.

How can you make sure your packages get to their destination in time for the 2012 holidays? Here's some information that might help.

The Pleasant Hill Post Office is located at 1945 Contra Costa Boulevard. It's open for shipping packages from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

The Staples discounts are not really all that helpful. You can usually find lower prices atRead More Wallmart or on Amazon and you must spend a large amount (a couple hundred dollars) all in one month to get any cash back reward at all. If you spend money on school supplies spread out, like $150/mo, you do not accumulate enough in any one month to get any reward at all. The deal sounds great, but I've found it completely useless and frustrating. I think it's a ploy for positive press only, and of little help to a teacher.
