Fourth of July Festivities Mean Some Roads Will Be Closed In Pleasant Hill

Police advise drivers to avoid the downtown area on the Fourth of July, or expect significant traffic delays.

A 5K fun run and a parade will highlight the 4th of July festivities this year. Residents should be aware that a number of roads will be closed to accommodate the runners and the parade.

Crescent Drive and Crescent Plaza will be closed to vehicles. Drivers should expect significant delays in and around the downtown area.

Drivers on Contra Costa Boulevard between Woodsworth Lane and Boyd Road will be rerouted, and the use of surrounding streets will be either prohibited or significantly restricted, according to police.

Road closures will begin at 7 a.m. and traffic should return to normal by noon.

The streets that will be affected by the parade and the 5K run will be:

  • Contra Costa Boulevard;
  • Gregory Lane;
  • Southbound I680 Gregory Lane offramp;
  • Crescent Drive;
  • Monument Boulevard;
  • Boyd Road;
  • Crescent Plaza;
  • Cleaveland Road;
  • Trelany Lane;
  • Mozden Lane;
  • Bud Court;
  • Zurich Court;
  • Treadway Lane;
  • Woodsworth Lane

The Staples discounts are not really all that helpful. You can usually find lower prices atRead More Wallmart or on Amazon and you must spend a large amount (a couple hundred dollars) all in one month to get any cash back reward at all. If you spend money on school supplies spread out, like $150/mo, you do not accumulate enough in any one month to get any reward at all. The deal sounds great, but I've found it completely useless and frustrating. I think it's a ploy for positive press only, and of little help to a teacher.
