Music Monday: A Little Love For The Locals

Cover2Cover is perhaps the best-loved band in Pleasant Hill. Here's a sample of their magic from last year.

It would be difficult to find a more beloved group of musicians in Pleasant Hill, or a more socially active guitar player in town, than Cover2Cover and Paul Cotruvo.

The band plays a fantastic variety of tunes from several decades, led by their amazing singer Toni Bryant. Other members include Larry Hall (guitar), Jon Leonardy (bass), Rob Goldberg (keyboards), Dan Hertlein (drums), and Stephen Anthony Salcedo (congas/percussion). Cotruvo's solid lead guitar work and superb backing vocals ensures this band always hits the mark.

For evidence of this, watch the crowd in the video - several seconds into the song, the chairs are pretty much empty, and folks are on their feet.

Cotruvo, in addition to leading the band and the acoustic version, Cover Story (featuring him and Bryant in duo format), also serves as musicial liason to the city, helping to book acts for the Sunset by the Lake and Plaza Concert series, and the annual Blues and Brews festival.

You can find them around town - their next public gig is Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Sunset by the Lake series. They will also be the featured band at this year's New Year's Eve celebration at

The Staples discounts are not really all that helpful. You can usually find lower prices atRead More Wallmart or on Amazon and you must spend a large amount (a couple hundred dollars) all in one month to get any cash back reward at all. If you spend money on school supplies spread out, like $150/mo, you do not accumulate enough in any one month to get any reward at all. The deal sounds great, but I've found it completely useless and frustrating. I think it's a ploy for positive press only, and of little help to a teacher.

Really? Show me the figures on this. The Dome has major infestation problems. It would require aRead More complete overhall and gutting. It is much cheaper to "rip and replace".
