Pleasant Hill is Alive With the Sound of Classic Movies

See your old favorites on the big screen every Wednesday at Century 16 Downtown Pleasant Hill. The Sound of Music plays Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The camera pans across the green expanse of the Austrian mountains as the music begins to build. Suddenly, Julie Andrews comes twirling into view and belts in perfect tune, "the hills are alive, with the sound of music..."

This classic opening scene can be enjoyed in all its technicolor glory on the big screen for one-day only on Wednesday, Jan. 16. "The Sound of Music" is showing as part of Cinemark's "Classic Series" at Pleasant Hill's Century 16 movie theater.

Showtimes are 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. every Wednesday. Buy tickets online on the Cinemark website.

Here's the schedule for the Cinemark Classics:

Jan. 16: "The Sound of Music" (1965)

Jan. 23: "To Catch a Thief" (1955)

Jan. 30: "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" (1969)

Feb. 6: "Saturday Night Fever" (1977)
