24 Hour Fitness Opens On North Main Street Jan. 26

Ribbon-cutting is at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, for second club in Walnut Creek; public is invited to tour the club.

At 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, dignitaries will cut the ribbon on a new 24-Hour Fitness club at 2800 N. Main St., Walnut Creek.

"It is our hope that the new club will support the fitness needs of the north Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill neighborhoods for many more years to come,” said Dan Benning, division president, in a 24 Hour Fitness news release. The national company, based in San Ramon, has more than 400 clubs around the U.S.

The company invited the community to drop by on the grand opening day for tours of the club. Beginning at 6 a.m. and throughout the day, attendees will be able to sample group exercise classes, the news release stated.

The club includes personal viewing screens on select card equipment, a basketball court, indoor pool, whirlpools, steam rooms, sauna, complimentary WiFi and personal training service.

Guests can download a free pass at the 24 Hour Fitness website.

It is the second 24 Hour Fitness club in Walnut Creek; the original one, also on North Main Street, is a couple miles south near the BART station.
