Boswell's Party Supplies Now Closed

The popular party store shut its Pacheco location on Monday, July 9 after 27 years in business.

From balloons and candles to themed party accessories — Boswell's had it all. In fact, if you ever needed a life-sized cardboard cutout of Marilyn Monroe or a pirate costume, the popular party supply store was the place to go.

But after 27 years in business, Boswell's Discount Party Supplies, at 5759 Pacheco Boulevard, closed its doors for business Monday, July 9.

The store announced that it had to give up it's Pacheco location due to a lease disagreement. Some staff members were invited to work at the Danville, Lafayette and Pleasanton stores, according to a Boswell's clerk.

From the business:

Boswell's Party Supplies is very sorry to announce that after 27 years in the area we will be closing our Pacheco store as of July 9th, 2012. We tried to negotiate a new lease but were not able to come to agreement. Boswell's will continue to look for another profitable location, but until that time we encourage you to shop in our other local stores that remain open to serve you.

Boswell's of Lafayette 3483 Mount Diablo Boulevard, 248-9150

Boswell's of Danville, 1901 Camino Ramon 866-1644

The Staples discounts are not really all that helpful. You can usually find lower prices atRead More Wallmart or on Amazon and you must spend a large amount (a couple hundred dollars) all in one month to get any cash back reward at all. If you spend money on school supplies spread out, like $150/mo, you do not accumulate enough in any one month to get any reward at all. The deal sounds great, but I've found it completely useless and frustrating. I think it's a ploy for positive press only, and of little help to a teacher.
