Carter's Coming to Town, Starlet Bridal Shuts

A children's store is opening downtown in July, and a bridal shop has cleared out. Spotted a business opening or closing in Pleasant Hill? Let us know.

SPROUTS: Pleasant Hill parents will have a new place to shop this summer with the opening of Carter's — a children's clothing and accessories store with a national presence.

The Carter's philosophy? "The world can be a challenging place; Carter’s is here to take care of the little details so that you are free to focus on what really matters: celebrating your little one – and the hugs, cuddles, giggles, and babbles that light up our lives."

SHUTTERS: The strip of vacant buildings across the street from the theater now extend all the way from the parking garage to Five Guys, with the closure of Starlet Bridal leaving a large storefront empty. The wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses and prom gowns have all been cleared out.

Starlet is still open in its other location in Santa Rosa.

I was sad to see Starlet go, not that I ever went in, but just for the fact that I thought the store was really pretty and they had nice gowns. According to Yelp, the reviews weren't great, so perhaps is the customer service had been better, they would have lasted longer. And I am happy about Carter's! I think we need to shops for SHOPPING down there, so I think it is a nice addition. Now we need a nice wine/cheese shop, cute flower shop & decent shoe store...I'll be set :)
