City Launches 'Shop Pleasant Hill' Campaign

A new website and Facebook page encourage residents and visitors to shop locally. Do you?

Are you a Pleasant Hill shopper, or do you head out of town when you feel the urge to splurge?

A new campaign is asking locals and visitors to "Shop Pleasant Hill," with the help of a website and Facebook page dedicated to providing information on the local retail, lodging, dining and business scene.

The city launched the campaign along with a Retail Marketing Incentive Program, which provides matching funding for qualified retail marketing efforts.

"Whether you are a resident, visitor, or business, there are a lot of opportunities for Pleasant Hill's business community that you don't want to miss," said the City of Pleasant Hill in a press release. "'Shop Pleasant Hill' is an initiative of the City to foster the vibrant Pleasant Hill business community and encourage residents and visitors to shop, dine, stay in, and enjoy Pleasant Hill."

The website, ShopPleasantHill.org, lists local goods and services and offers coupons for shoppers, which allows businesses to share deals and promotions with the Pleasant Hill community. The Facebook page, Facebook.com/ShopPleasantHill, and Twitter account (@Shop_PH_CA), will provide updates on Pleasant Hill's shopping scene, according to the city.

Retail marketing grants are also available through the initiative, providing matching funding for qualifying marketing efforts. There are around 15 businesses in Pleasant Hill participating, according to the city. Interested businesses should contact Kelly Calhoun, Economic Development Manager, at 925-671-5213.
