Hidden Gem: Pleasant Hill Market

The Saturday farmers' market isn't the only place to buy locally grown produce in Pleasant Hill. In fact, Pleasant Hill Market is open daily and packed with fresh fruits an vegetables.

The grocery store has been open for six years at its location on Pleasant Hill Road at Grayson and is a popular shopping spot, according to the 80 reviews on Yelp.com. Pleasant Hill Market is owned by two brothers, Matt and Nate Mora.

"Fresh produce is not just a slogan, but a commitment," according to the store's website.

Some of the recent deals included watermelons for $6.99, two different types of cherries for $2.99 per pound and 89 cents per pound for squash. An array of beans, nuts and trail mixes are available from the canisters lining one wall, and the store also sells some packaged items, as well as wine and beer.

Pleasant Hill Market has just extended its hours to 8 p.m. during the week and on Saturdays. The store opens at 8 a.m. Monday through Saturday. Sunday hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
