In-N-Out Looking for Second Location in Pleasant Hill Area

The fast food chain withdrew an application for a restaurant on N. Main Street but is still planning another location somewhere nearby, a company official says.

Fans of In-N-Out Burger will soon have another restaurant in the area to frequent, according to the company's planning and development department, if the fast food chain can find an appropriate location.

Last week, In-N-Out withdrew an application for a second location in Pleasant Hill at N. Main Street and Oak Park Boulevard. The chain's first Pleasant Hill restaurant opened on Contra Costa Boulevard in May of 2012.

"We will still look for sites nearby as we continue to feel that we will be better able to serve the area with an additional restaurant," said Carl Van Fleet, vice president of planning and development for In-N-Out.

Fleet added that the company had been working on plans for the N. Main Street site "for a long time" but that a "variety of reasons" caused them to withdraw from the process.

"We decided that it just wouldn’t work for us," said Fleet.

Currently, there are four In-N-Out locations in the East Bay — Pleasant Hill, Pittsburg, Brentwood and San Ramon.

Do you think In-N-Out should open another restaurant nearby? Where? Share your thoughts and ideas in the comments.
