A roundup of retail, restaurant and other business news and happenings in Pleasant Hill and Central Contra Costa.

Open: To spruce up your bedroom or bathroom with bargain-priced linens, browse the selection at Pleasant Hill’s new Linen Outlet. The new store carries home décor such as window treatments, bedding, bath linens, rugs, mattresses and other discounted inventory from manufacturer overstocks, retailer-canceled orders and discontinued merchandise. The San Francisco based Linen Outlet opened on Contra Costa Boulevard next to Big 5 in the County Square shopping center in July.

Open: The new Japanese eatery Nama Sushi, covered earlier in Patch, is now open in downtown Pleasant Hill on Contra Costa Boulevard.

Opening: It’s that time of year again: Halloween pop-up stores are creeping into town with their ghoulish garb and devilish décor. Spirit Halloween opens in Pleasant Hill in the Crossroads center on Monument Boulevard and in Concord on Clayton in Park N Shop on Willow Pass Road. These seasonal stores typically open by mid September and close a day or two after the holiday.
