Jack's Wins Best Outdoor Dining in Diablo Mag Awards

The Pleasant Hill eatery took first place for its patio dining experience in Diablo Magazine's "Best of the East Bay" awards. Last year, Jack's won for best patio, best new restaurant and best cheap lunch.

Sun worshippers all over the East Bay have been searching for the best patio dining since the first inkling of summer. Apparently, the answer is right here in Pleasant Hill.

Jack's, the downtown restaurant with the flashy sign and , won "Best Outdoor Dining" in Diablo Magazine's "Best of the East Bay" awards 2012.

Last year, the restaurant won in three categories, taking home the title of "Best New Restaurant," "Best Outdoor Patio" and "Best Place for a Cheap Lunch." Jack's was also a runner-up in the "Comfort Food" category in 2011.

Only one other Pleasant Hill business proved a winner for Diablo Mag in 2012 — Creative Sports Fly Shop, which won in the category of "Best Fly-Fishing Finds."

A total of 176 winners were selected for the July 2012 "Best of the East Bay" edition of Diablo Magazine after tallying reader votes cast since the spring.

What do you think of Jack's? Are the awards deserved? Should any other Pleasant Hill businesses have won "Best of the East Bay?" Let us know in the comments.

The Staples discounts are not really all that helpful. You can usually find lower prices atRead More Wallmart or on Amazon and you must spend a large amount (a couple hundred dollars) all in one month to get any cash back reward at all. If you spend money on school supplies spread out, like $150/mo, you do not accumulate enough in any one month to get any reward at all. The deal sounds great, but I've found it completely useless and frustrating. I think it's a ploy for positive press only, and of little help to a teacher.
