Update: Power Restored To Downtown Pleasant Hill

Part of the downtown went dark on Saturday afternoon after a power outage hit the area

Power was restored late Saturday afternoon to downtown Pleasant Hill after the area briefly lost electrical power.

The outage happened shortly before 3 p.m. It affected buildings along Contra Costa Boulevard between at least Gregory Lane and Vivian Drive.

Businesses along that strip were closing up after they went dark. The Starbucks in the shopping center at Gregory and Contra Costa Boulevard asked customers to leave after about 15 minutes of no power.

Traffic signals weren't working along that section of Contra Costa Boulevard. Cars will treating the intersections as four-way stops.

At least two Pacific Gas & Electric Co. trucks were on the scene, searching for the cause of the outage.

At 4 p.m., PG&E's outage map showed 12 customers without power with an estimated time of restoration of 6:30 p.m. The outage had been taken off the map by 5:30 p.m.
