OUR GARDEN TOMATO TASTING SEPTEMBER 11TH.

Free Tomato Tasting Scheduled for Wednesday, September 11thPleasant Hill, CA (August 11, 2013): There’s nothing like a home-grown heirloom tomato. But there are literally hundreds of heirloom tomatoes and Contra Costa Master Gardeners want to grow only the very best! Help us select the heirloom tomatoes we will grow for next year’s Great Tomato Plant Sale. On Wednesday, September 11th from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at Our Garden, located on the corner of N. Wiget and Shadelands Drive off of Ygnacio Valley Road in Walnut Creek, we will offer a wide variety of locally grown heirloom tomatoes for tasting and judging. The top ten varieties will be available next year to purchase at our Great Tomato Plant Sale in April 2014.

We will also be offering a wide variety of winter vegetable seedlings—broccoli, romanesco, multi-colored cauliflower, and green and purple cabbages—for your own winter veggie garden—all for only $2 each. All funds help support Contra Costa Master Gardeners’ projects and programs.
