Welcome To Pleasant Hill Patch — Let The Conversation Begin!

Allow me to introduce you to Pleasant Hill Patch, a place for community conversation.

Welcome to Pleasant Hill Patch! Our goal is to make your life ridiculously easy by giving you a place to post useful information about where you live. We want Patch to be the place you come to for a conversation with your community, where you check what your friends are up to, what’s going on around town and where the best places are to shop, eat and play.

These days a lot of websites make those kinds of promises, but Patch has proven it knows what it's doing when it comes to local information and commerce. We have 870 Patch sites around the country, including 60 around the Bay Area, including Martinez, Concord, Walnut Creek and Lamorinda.

It's easy. Just sign up for the site (yes, it's free!), subscribe to our newsletter (delivered to your email daily, weekly and/or when news is breaking) and you're ready to go.

What you can do on Patch

If you own a business here, it's already most likely listed in our free directory. Please be sure to to use our cool tools for business owners. (And if it's missing, you can add it.) If you're looking for a restaurant or service, you can search for it in the directory. And if you're happy with an establishment, post a review or rate it.

If you know of an upcoming event, we have you covered there, as well. Go to the Events section and click “Add An Event.” We often feature public events on our home page and in our newsletter, so be sure to post a photo and/or video. We also host a community photo gallery.

Do you have a wedding or engagement to announce or some news to share about a high school graduate or scholarship winner? Then post a short write-up in our Announcements section, which also allows families to post free obituaries.

Do you have a lot more to say about life in Pleasant Hill? Are you following local government, or are you an active PTA member? Got a hobby you'd like to share with your neighbors? Then become a blogger for Pleasant Hill Patch. We welcome your voice and your views.

Meet Your Editor

So ? I’ve been a journalist, musician, city hall bureaucrat, parent, PTA president, corporate executive and now Patch editor. The thing is, I’ve done all of this in central Contra Costa. I’ve lived in Walnut Creek, Concord, Pleasant Hill, and now Martinez.

I love this area — the never-ending changes as the seasons turn lush emerald into dazzling gold, as the unrelenting heat gives way to crisp fall mornings, as downtowns new and old compete with The Mall (for us, there’s really only one, right?). Most of all, I love the people. Each of us has a story to tell, a special insight to share. I want to hear yours.

My job is to host this ongoing conversation, to give you my perspective from time to time, to cover the news, and most of all, to hear what you have to say.

And to that end, I am truly excited about being a part of your life, Pleasant Hill. Let the conversation begin!

The Staples discounts are not really all that helpful. You can usually find lower prices atRead More Wallmart or on Amazon and you must spend a large amount (a couple hundred dollars) all in one month to get any cash back reward at all. If you spend money on school supplies spread out, like $150/mo, you do not accumulate enough in any one month to get any reward at all. The deal sounds great, but I've found it completely useless and frustrating. I think it's a ploy for positive press only, and of little help to a teacher.
