Motor Home Fire Spreads to Pleasant Hill House, Family of 5 Escapes Uninjured

No one was injured during the blaze, according to Contra Costa County fire officials.

By Bay City News—

A family of five escaped a one-alarm house fire in Pleasant Hill that started in a motor home early this morning, a fire captain said.

Crews responded around 12:40 a.m. to reports of a fire at a house in the 700 block of Slater Avenue, according to Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Capt. Robert Marshall.

Fire personnel arrived on the scene to find a motor home fully engulfed in flames that had spread to a house and ripped through the home's attic, Marshall said. The family of two adults and three children inside had safely evacuated before fire crews arrived on the scene.

They were likely displaced by the blaze, the captain said. Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring homes and got it under control in about 20 minutes, Marshall said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
