Honda Rams Staples In Burglary: Police

Pleasant Hill police found the Accord unoccupied Monday morning at the Staples on Contra Costa Boulevard. The car had been reported stolen Sunday in Berkeley.

Someone rammed a stolen Honda Accord into the Staples store in Pleasant Hill early Monday morning, and police are investigating what items were stolen.

At 5:42 a.m. Monday, a green 1997 Accord — which was reported stolen to University of California, Berkeley, police Sunday — was found crashed through the front door of the Staples at 2120 Contra Costa Blvd., according to a press release by Pleasant Hill Police Master Cpl. Steve Dexheimer.

The vehicle was unoccupied. Police said no one was found inside the store.

Some property was stolen from the store. "Details about that property are not available," Dexheimer stated.

Some security camera footage is being reviewed, Dexheimer said. Officers have found some witnesses working in nearby businesses at the time of the crime.
