Man Arrested After Armed KFC Holdup

A Richmond man is in custody after police find him with a gun and cash from the crime.

A man who police say held up a KFC restaurant at gunpoint Friday night was arrested a few minutes later by police.

According to a release from the Pleasant Hill Police Department, 29-year-old Eugene Markell Drake of Richmond walked into the KFC at 635 Contra Costa Blvd., pulled out a handgun and demanded cash.

A few minutes later, police found Drake near the corner of Contra Costa Blvd. and Golf Club Rd. Drake tried to run, but police caught him and Drake was arrested. He was carrying a loaded handgun and cash from the robbery, police say.
