Pleasant Hill Man Arrested Wednesday On Suspicion Of Stealing A Car

A second suspect who was in the car got away.

A Pleasant Hill man who was driving a stolen car in Pleasant Hill Wednesday night was arrested after a brief chase. A second man got away.

Police say that 32-year-old Brian Griggs of Pleasant Hill was driving a stolen green Honda sedan on Contra Costa Boulevard near Taylor. An officer's license plate reader showed the car to be reported stolen out of Richmond. Police followed the car to a parking lot at Gregory Village, where both men jumped out and ran.

Griggs was arrested without incident in the Taco Bell across the street. The passenger ran west on Doris Drive. Despite a search that included the canine unit from Concord PD, the second suspect was not found.

Griggs was arrested for auto theft, delaying officers, an outstanding felony warrant, and a parole violation, and was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
