Police Blotter: This Thief Was a Hoser

Also, an account of a man with a fire obsession and and other accounts of nefarious and criminal behavior in Pleasant Hill police reports from Feb. 16-20.

Feb. 16
Burns me up.  The owner of a salon that burned down recently in the 500 block of Contra Costa Boulevard reported harassment by a white man, estimated 28 years old, who was poking through a box of trash in front of the salon while saying, "I'd like to see that burn." The man, who had a black and yellow backpack, also used obscenities, the owner reported. Pleasant Hill police are investigating.


Feb. 17
Hit and run. A man's Acura, parked on Boyd Road, was hit overnight. The damage was so bad that the Acura was undrivable. Police are investigating.

Disoriented scooter driver. At 4:28 p.m., officers assisted with man on a motorized scooter who didn't know how he got to Oak Park and Contra Costa boulevards. The scooter has lost power and "keeps rolling backwards down the hill," citizens reported.

Crime by a hoser. At 6:03 p.m., officers investigated a report that someone cut a woman's garden hose and made off with a length of it.

Feb. 18
A scared kid. Officers assisted with a liberation from a car parked at Safeway, Contra Costa Boulevard. A 3-year-old was locked inside.

Gunshots. At 10:45 p.m., officers investigated a report of about five gunshots in the area of Kmart on Chilpancingo Parkway.

Feb 20
2 robbers flee gas station. At 7:43 p.m., two masked robbers confronted a lone clerk at the 76 gas station on Monument Boulevard.

You can usually find lower prices atRead More Wallmart or on Amazon and you must spend a large amount (a couple hundred dollars) all in one month to get any cash back reward at all. If you spend money on school supplies spread out, like $150/mo, you do not accumulate enough in any one month to get any reward at all. The deal sounds great, but I've found it completely useless and frustrating. I think it's a ploy for positive press only, and of little help to a teacher.
