Here are some of the items from the Pleasant Hill police log from Thursday, Dec. 13, to Sunday, Dec. 16.

Thursday, Dec. 13

4:45 a.m.: Employees at the Starbucks at Contra Costa Boulevard and Woodsworth Lane called to say there was a female transient asleep in their doorway and they were afraid to ask her to move.

7:41 a.m.: A man called police to report he had "snorted cocaine" and now needed help because of a rapid heart beat. The man suddenly changed his mind and said he didn't want assistance. Emergency personnel checked on him anyway.

8:36 p.m.: The owner of a home on Sherman Drive reported that his house had been burglarized while he was away during the day.

Friday, Dec. 14

5:52 p.m.: Employees at Carrow's restaurant on Contra Costa Boulevard reported that a man had eaten there the day before and then left his identification because he didn't have any money. The man returned on this evening, ate some more and then asked for his i-d back.

10:58 p.m.: The window of an automobile was smashed while it was parked near the Century 12 theater on Crescent Drive. It wasn't specified what items were taken from the car.

Saturday, Dec. 15

6:08 p.m.: An auto burglary was reported outside the Big and Tall store on Contra Costa Boulevard. The owner said the window of his blue Endeavor had been smashed.

11:34 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of five backpacks being found in the parking garage on Crescent Drive.

Sunday, Dec. 16

7:29 a.m.: A burglary was reported at the Radio Shack on Contra Costa Boulevard. Entry was gained by prying open the front door. A witness saw a man in a red Santa hat and a white mask drive off in, not a sleigh, but a Navy blue truck.

5:24 p.m.: An attempted robbery was reported at the Little Dragon Restaurant on Golf Club Road. Employees said the two male suspects were wearing black beanies, black shirts and jackets. The weapons were a knife and a silver handgun.

5:29 p.m.: A burglar smashed the window of a silver Mercedes parked on Hoover Avenue and stole a purse from inside the vehicle.
