Here's some of the items from the Pleasant Hill police log the past week

Here are some selected items from the Pleasant Hill police log from Thursday, Dec. 27, to Tuesday, Jan. 1.

Thursday, Dec. 27

11:02 a.m.: A resident of Cleaveland Road reported a camera bag with three cameras inside was stolen from his white 2001 Ford F150 truck overnight. The burglar smashed the left rear window to get inside.

2:09 p.m.: Employees of the Big 5 Sporting Goods on Contra Costa Boulevard reported three young men tried to steal butane from the store. The workers got the fuel back from the thieves and the suspects sped off in a silver car.

7:10 p.m.: Employees at the Verizon Wireless store on Crescent Drive said a man and a woman had just left the business after stealing two iPhones. The suspects got into a Buick and drove off.

Friday, Dec. 28

5:03 p.m.: A man who lives on Cleaveland Road told police a gun and some cash was stolen from his apartment.

Saturday, Dec. 29

2:21 a.m.: A cab driver reported a man jumped out of his taxi at the Shell station on Contra Costa Boulevard and ran off without paying his fare.

7:09 p.m.: Employees at the Taco Bell on Contra Costa Boulevard told police a woman had paid for her food with a fake bill and was now screaming that she wanted her money back.

9:36 p.m.: A man reported another man had asked to use his cell phone to make a call, then ran off with it. The victim chased the suspect, who dropped the phone and kept running. The incident happened at the 7-11 on Golf Club Road. The suspect's description is similar to the description of a man who has been stealing iPhones from people along Contra Costa Boulevard.

Sunday, Dec. 30

11:27 a.m.: A homeowner on Morello Avenue reported to police their Christmas display had been stolen from their lawn.

Monday, Dec. 31

10:41 a.m.: Witnesses reported a truck hit a fire hydrant near the Panda Express on Monument Boulevard. Water was gushing down the street.

6:52 p.m.: A bicycle was stolen from in front of the Target store on Contra Costa Boulevard. The black BMX was not locked.

Tuesday, Jan. 1

2:27 a.m.: A neighbor reported two men were throwing chairs onto Boyd Road near Cleaveland Road.
