Police Log: Stolen Cars, Counterfeit Bills and High School Marijuana

Some of the items that kept Pleasant Hill police busy this past week

Here are some of the items from the Pleasant Hill Police Department police logs from Dec. 7 to Dec. 12.

Friday, Dec. 7

12:21 a.m.: Police received a call about a woman at the In N Out Burger on Chilpancingo Parkway who was walking down the drive-through line and writing down everyone's license plate numbers.

5:19 a.m.: A man called police to say the window of his car was smashed on Rock Creek Way. A wallet and bag were taken.

9:27 a.m.: A female student was detained at College Park High School for possession of marijuana.

1:36 p.m.: A home was reportedly burglarized on Elda Drive between 8 a.m. and noon.

2:30 p.m.: Two vehicles were involved in an injury accident at Sequoia Elementary School on Boyd Road. A Nissan Altima and Toyota Highlander collided and their air bags deployed.

6:16 p.m.: Ambulance attendants reported a patient got out of the back of their vehicle in downtown Pleasant Hill and ran off. The patient was a transient being transported for abdominal pain.

Saturday, Dec. 8

7:35 a.m.: A car was reportedly stolen from a home on Kathleen Drive. The vehicle was a 1994 Honda Accord.

5:36 p.m.: Another car was reportedly taken from the parking lot at Kohl's Department Store in The Crossing shopping center. The vehicle was a black Honda Accord.

Sunday, Dec. 9

12:13 a.m.: A resident reported gasoline had been siphoned from her car on Old Vine Court. She said the same thing had happened to other vehicles on her street. A half-hour later, another resident reported his car also had gasoline siphoned.

Monday, Dec. 10

1:57 a.m.: Employees at the Safeway store on Contra Costa Boulevard reported a person had stolen a cartful of groceries. The suspect drove off in a green Ford Taurus.

9:43 a.m.: Employees at Lens Crafters on Contra Costa Boulevard reported their store had been burglarized. The thieves got in by prying open the front door.

11:14 a.m.: A homeowner on Scottsdale Road reported his home had been burglarized sometime overnight. Entry was through the front door.

1:09 p.m.: Police were told a passer-by had found a cash register that belonged to Round Table Pizza laying along Douglas Lane. Officers returned the register to the business.

1:26 p.m.: Police were informed a College Park High student was in the vice principal's office for possession of marijuana.

5:27 p.m.: Police were called to investigate a home burglary on Pleasant Oaks Drive. The thieves entered by prying open the front door.

Tuesday, Dec. 11

1:15 a.m.: A shotgun was reported stolen from a Dodge truck in the parking lot of Magoo's on Contra Costa Boulevard. The window of the truck was smashed.

Wednesday, Dec. 12

8:19 a.m.: A car was reported stolen overnight on Monte Cresta Avenue. The vehicle was a green 1997 Honda Accord.

2:41 p.m.: Employees reported two men had used counterfeit 20-dollar bills at Kohl's Department store. A half-hour later, employees at Rite Aid Drugs on Contra Costa Boulevard reported two men with similar descriptions tried to use four counterfeit 100-dollar bills there.

3:52 p.m.: A resident reported gas had been siphoned from his truck overnight on Primrose Drive.

The Staples discounts are not really all that helpful. You can usually find lower prices atRead More Wallmart or on Amazon and you must spend a large amount (a couple hundred dollars) all in one month to get any cash back reward at all. If you spend money on school supplies spread out, like $150/mo, you do not accumulate enough in any one month to get any reward at all. The deal sounds great, but I've found it completely useless and frustrating. I think it's a ploy for positive press only, and of little help to a teacher.
