Police Log - Swindles, Burglaries, Kids Causing Trouble

The following information was taken from the Pleasant Hill Police Log and rewritten by Pleasant Hill Patch.

Sept. 1, 2012

12:23am – A woman talking to her boyfriend, an employee of Lucky's on Crescent Drive, on her cell phone, notified police that she heard three male voices in the background say “give us everything before we shoot you,” then the boyfriend hung up.

1:50am – A man was arrested at the corner of Ruth Drive and Taylor Blvd. for drunk driving.

12:39pm – A burglary was reported from a home on Brandon Road and Starlyn Drive.

2:38pm – Two women reported separately that they sent money to an unnamed agency in the south via Western Union, and both times the transaction was fraudulent. Moral of this story: don't wire money to anyone you don't know personally. Ever.

10:18pm – Police received a report of three or four juveniles stringing clear packing tape across Cleavland Road, causing cars to swerve. 

11:15pm – A woman reported a juvenile standing in the lane of Contra Costa Boulevard near Gregory Lane, pretending directing traffic and chasing cars.

Sept. 2, 2012

7:06am – The Church of the Resurrection on Gregory Lane and Kahrs Avenue was burgled.

12:58pm – A man reported that he loaned a woman his car on Sunday to go to church, but the woman never came back with the car.

3:24pm – A man called police to report that the rock band outside of City Hall was starting early, and was very loud. He was advised that there were two bands that day. That answer probably didn't make him feel better. 

4:28pm – A man in a gold BMW pulled into a parking space in front of the Jamba Juice on Crescent Drive and hit a parked car next to him – a witness said the man appeared to be intoxicated.

5:31pm – A man reported that he was sitting in his car getting gas at the Chevron Station on Doris Drive and Contra Costa Boulevard when a homeless man, filling up his bike tires with air, threatened to shoot him in the head.

10:06pm – A resident of Maureen Lane and Elinora Drive reported a party going on nearby, and a tree on fire outside the party home.

Sept. 3, 2012

10:23am – A resident of Wendell Lane and Oak Park Blvd. reported that their car was egged, tp’ed and covered in duct tape, and their mailbox dented and the wood post snapped off.

10:52am – A car was stolen from a home on Boyd Road.

12:00pm – Two men were seen entering and leaving an apartment on Maricopa Court. The resident was at home when the men entered – she yelled and they both ran away. Both men were later arrested for suspicion of burglary.

12:52am – A home on Bramblewood Lane was burgled.

4:10pm – A caller from Virginia Hills Drive in Martinez reported that a man pulled up in front of her house was began to pleasure himself. He then left toward Safeway. He was described as about 30 years old, black hair, heavy set in an older Green Accura.

4:40pm – A woman was attempting to get on I-680 south at Boyd Road when a car suddenly came at her from the opposite direction, which then pulled into the Hyatt House.

Sept. 5, 2012

5:54pm – An employee of Sun Valley Shell reported that a white van parked in the rear with hazard tape on the back door has men entering the van for a short time with a woman after giving money to another man.

Sept. 6, 2012

9:21am – An accident on Taylor Blvd. and Withers Avenue resulted in one of the drivers being trapped in the car.

10:14am – A woman was purchasing a car from a man. She gave him the money and turned away to lock her home so she could give him a ride to Oakland. The man then took off in the car with the money.
