Police Seeking Suspects in Attempted Armed Robbery in Pleasant Hill

Police say the robbery attempt in Pleasant Hill may be linked to a similar successful robbery in Walnut Creek on the same night

By Bay City News—

Police are looking for suspects in an attempted armed robbery that happened in Pleasant Hill on Friday night, a police sergeant said. At about 11 p.m. Friday, the robber exited the passenger side of a red two-door Honda Accord and confronted a 29-year-old Antioch man with a black handgun, Sgt. Matt Kristic said.

The robber demanded for the man's wallet, but the victim was not carrying one at the time, Kristic said. The robber went back inside the Honda Accord driven by another person and the pair fled south on Contra Costa Boulevard, he said. The suspect is described as a black 20-year-old man standing about 5 feet 11 inches tall with a skinny build and short dark hair.

He was wearing dark jeans and a gray shirt at the time of the robbery. No description was available for the driver.

The incident is similar to an armed robbery at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek that also occurred on Friday night, according to Kristic. At about 11:15 p.m., Walnut Creek officers responded to a report of a robbery in front of Corner's Tavern at 1342 Broadway Plaza, police said.

The suspect in the Walnut Creek robbery is described as a man who has a dark complexion in his early 20s standing about 6 feet 1 inches tall with a medium build. He had a dark scarf covering his face and wore a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt or jacket. No description was available for the driver.

No one was injured in either robbery, according to police.
