Police say the animal was left in a car without proper ventilation

A woman was arrested after police say she left a dog in a hot car in a Pleasant Hill parking garage on Friday afternoon.

Angela Kleinfeld, 38, was booked on charges of cruelty to animals resulting in death.

Police say they went to the parking garage at 160 Crescent Drive shortly after 4 p.m. after getting reports of a dog in distress.

They said they found the Boxer locked inside a vehicle with insufficient ventilation.

Officers broke into the car and took the dog to a veterinary hospital, but the animal died.
