City Wants to Whet Pleasant Hill's Appetite for the Farmers' Market

The City of Pleasant Hill is looking for ways to increase foot traffic downtown during the Saturday farmers' market.

Local farmers bring plenty of fresh and fruits and vegetables to downtown Pleasant Hill on Saturdays, but the farmers' market is lacking an essential ingredient; the city is hustling to make the market bustling and bring more shoppers to the stalls.

City staff are meeting with Colliers, the downtown Pleasant Hill property manager, and the Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association to figure out how to promote the downtown Pleasant Hill farmers' market and increase foot traffic in the downtown area on Saturday mornings, according to the City of Pleasant Hill.

Pleasant Hill currently has two farmers markets — one at Pleasant Hill BART from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays and the other in downtown Pleasant Hill from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

How do you think the downtown Pleasant Hill farmers' market can attract more shoppers? Share your ideas in the comments below.
