Rally For President's Gun Law Package Set For Monday

A candlelight vigil and rally in favor of President Obama's gun legislation proposals is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Hill City Hall, 100 Gregory Lane.

Obama "outlined a plan for common-sense reform, like background checks on all sales, new laws to prevent anyone from buying guns for resale to criminals, and getting weapons of war and massive ammunition magazines off our streets," stated a news release from the Contra Costa Chapter of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.

The chapter pointed to a list of the president's legislative proposals and planned executive actions, as reported by the New York Times.
