In 2010, Mount Diablo Unified School District's governing board voted to get rid of summer school. The moved saved the equivalent of eight full-time high school teachers, but it made it harder for MDUSD high schoolers to graduate. This spring, the district is testing an online course that will help students who have fallen behind pick up the credits they need to graduate. We here at Patch are curious to learn how it's working.
Are you a student taking the online courses?
Are you a parent with a student using the online pilot?
Are you a teacher at College Park HS?
Tell us what you think? Are online courses a good substitute for old-fashioned teaching?
