Contra Costa Master Gardeners New Class Orientation

Do you love gardening? Love talking about gardening with others? Want to be more involved in your community? Join the Contra Costa Master Gardeners!

Master Gardeners are volunteers for the University of California; their mission is to extend to the public  environmentally responsible horticultural practices. We offer a comprehensive training class to help achieve this mission.

The Contra Costa Master Gardeners will soon be accepting applications for their 2013 class. The class sessions will be held Fridays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, starting October 12, 2012 and ending March 1, 2013.

In order to apply to the training program attendance at one of the following FREE Orientation Sessions is required:

Monday, June 25 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at 151
Linus Pauling Drive, Hercules (offices of Contra Costa County Employment & Human Services)


Wednesday, June 27 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at 75
Santa Barbara Rd, 2nd Floor, Pleasant Hill (offices of Contra Costa County UC Cooperative Extension)

Tuesday, July 17 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at 75
Santa Barbara Rd, 2nd Floor, Pleasant Hill (offices of Contra Costa County UC Cooperative Extension)

Thursday, July 19 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at 151
Linus Pauling Drive, Hercules (offices of Contra Costa County Employment & Human Services)

Master Gardeners Are:

Volunteers trained through the University of California’s cooperative extension to bring research based knowledge to improve residential horticulture, urban pest management and resource conservation to the residents of Contra Costa County. The Master Gardeners are in the community through programs such as the Contra Costa Times "Our Garden," Help Desk, Speakers Bureau, School Gardens, Public Gardens, Farmer’s Markets and other activities.
