BART is the Best Giants Parade Option

Driving into San Francisco Wednesday will be an exercise in madness, given that it's the Giants ticker tape parade and Halloween, plus, of course, a commute day.

Planning to attend Wednesday's ticker tape parade to celebrate the Giants' 2012 World Series win? It would be easier on your mood, and your soul, to take public transit that day. Many thousands of people are expected to converge on San Francisco for the parade, and the subsequent Halloween celebration. Driving a car could prove harmful to your serenity. 

Instead, East Bay revelers should consider taking BART, which is running its rush hour schedule all day long.

San Francisco will hold a ticker tape parade and civic celebration in honor of the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday.

The parade in honor of the Giants' World Series victory against the Detroit Tigers will start at 11 a.m. at the foot of Market Street and continue to Civic Center Plaza.

The Giants swept the Tigers, winning the series in Game 4 in Detroit Sunday night with a 4-3 victory. It is the team's second World Series win in three years.
