These three hour workshops explore modern scientific theories on anxiety and stress response in relation to traditional yoga practices.
The first section involves lecture and discussion regarding biological and neurological research into stress response and how yoga practices including hatha yoga, restorative yoga, and breathing exercises help. A significant portion of the class will be dedicated to these practices. Beginning and experienced yoga students are welcome.
The second section is less physical in nature and connects ancient yoga philosophy from the Yoga Sutras and Hatha Pradipika with modern theories of cognitive restructuring and defusion. While beginners are always welcome, professionals from both therapeutic and yoga fields will especially benefit from this more academic level class.
