Love Pleasant Hill? Volunteer for Community Service Day

Registration is open for the 9th Annual Community Service Day on Sept. 28.

  • Pleasant Hill residents have an opportunity to spend a day bettering their city on Sept. 28 as part of the 9th Annual Community Service Day.

  • Registration is now open for the event, which encourages locals to register a project that will beautify or benefit Pleasant Hill and then spend a day working on it.

Participants get a free pancake breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Park and a free t-shirt.

This event is organized by the Pleasant Hill Civic Action Commission and has brought together thousands of volunteers over the past eight years, working on various projects around the city. Past efforts have included cleaning up neighborhoods, schools, parks, creeks and churches as well as planting trees, repairing bicycles for donation to children, giving blood and collecting food to feed the homeless.

Projects are available for adults and children of all ages and abilities, according to the city. More information and registration details are available on the City of Pleasant Hill website.
