The U.S. House Appropriations Committee voted to include $5 million to build an earthquake warning system. Patch file photo.

Typical Democrat wanting to spend money like Brown’s crazy train. What is an early warningRead More system.. “brace for shock” ? What we need is an early warning system that warns us before a Democrat / Liberal opens his month.

Wow! Talk about Brown-Obama-Democrat Cronyism. Not only can the system be built and installed forRead More less than $500/node, it already has. I helped with one of the nodes with-in the past four years. The system (requiring less than 25 sq.ft. (donated) can be set up similar to a Home WiFi Security Cam with FTP access. Really it can be automatically monitored and maintained for free through a cooperating University. This is merely a $16 million a year hornswoggle going into the crony's pocket. Its dirtier than greedy profit. All that, lying cheating and stealing on top of it. Republicans in office don't deserve to be there because they do not study and know about the communities they represent or what they have already (and recently) funded. They are not doing their jobs in a two party system. Having formerly worked for the DNC the only thing good I can say about democrats is they at least learn their constituencies well enough to manipulate them.

Make no mistake about it, they are going to be coming for your guns eventually, just a matter ofRead More time. Suppose that within a mental evaluation for gun purchase, the citizen reveals a deeply held dislikeRead More and distrust of the Government. Note that this law would NOT have stopped the Isla Vista shooting because the parents did NOT callRead More the local mental health agency as well as the police. Note that by failing to check the California gun registry - available in every patrol car - they would not have even considered issuing such an order because they didn't think there were any firearms in the area - and neither did his parents, apparently. I have a lot of questions regarding this case - and one of them is that given junior had been making violent postings for more than a week or two, why didn't the parents cut off his funds and compel him to return home and be evaluated?

My wife says I am in West Nile Denial. But. I believe it is the most over rated risk reported byRead More media in the US. More people die from bee stings. The Vast majority of people, even who get bit, never get it. And the Vast Majority of people who get infected never show any signs. Lets see if I have this correct: BART runs directly to the San Francisco International Airport forRead More no additional cost other than the destination fee, where you get on a Free train that runs 24/7. It also runs to Caltrain in Millbrae, althou with limited hours. BART to Oakland now charges a fee, and does not have any meaningful connection to Amtrak in Oakland. BOTH of these ventures were promised to the public waaay back when BART was staring off, along with the never-built ( but paid for) BART connections to Brentwood and Oakley. Apparently Harvey Milk was not only a predator of teenage boys, he was a stooge for the Rev. JimRead More Jones. He wrote a letter to Pres. [Yo, ConcordPatch. Saw this on the net. Any reaction?] Harvey Milk Stamped "Out"Read More Forever ! The Obama Cabal is behind universal GAYety with a "forever" postage stamp issued by the US Pederastal Service which idolizes Harvey Milk, a Jewish pederast "attracted to boys aged 15-19," according to WikiAnswers! (Also see Wikipedia.) Global gaydom was even predicted by Jesus (see "days of Lot" in Luke 17 and compare with Genesis 19). And the Hebrew prophet Zechariah (14th chapter) says that during the same end-time gay "days" ALL nations will come against Israel and fulfill the "days of Noah" at the same time (see Luke 17 again) - a short time of anti-Jewish genocide found in Zechariah 13:8 when two-thirds of all Jews will die. In other words, when "gay days" have become universal, all hell will break loose! The same "days" will cause worldwide human government to collapse in just a few short years! For the first time ever there won't be enough time for anyone to attend college, have a family, enjoy retirement, etc. It will also be the last time anyone like ObabaBlackSheep will be able to keep pulling the wool over our eyes! One final thought. The more we see gays "coming out," the sooner Jesus will be "coming down"! For more, Google or Yahoo "God to Same-Sexers: Hurry Up," "Jesus Never Mentioned Homosexuality. When gays have birthdays...," "FOR GAYS ONLY: Jesus Predicted...," "USA - from Puritans to Impure-itans!" and "The Background Obama Can't Cover Up." (PS: HOMOgenized Milk has been honored by Gov. Schwarzenaggravator as well as ObabaBlackSheep.)

Mr. Paxson. Taken Constitutional Courses-several times over. The central issue of the topic is theRead More Constitution-Not Roberto. But in case you hadn't noticed, the Obama Administration has been the most egregious offender in Constitutional discount, flagrant violations, and - in general- more akin to following the 10 planks of the Communist Manifesto, not the Constitution. I suspect that Roberto's comment is more on target that that which you offered. Given the vote of the Judiciary, it hardly seems as if liberals had a problem - only Progressives..
Mark Paxson May 11, 2014 at 05:40 pm
Gary ... keep avoiding the point of this post and changing the subject. The conservative majorityRead More of the Supreme Court, made up of justices appointed by Republican Presidents, issued a decision that expands police power beyond what I think the framers of the Constitution intended. It's easy to see if my comment was on target -- look at the votes of the Justices on the referenced decision. You and Roberto want to attack Obama instead of exploring what the real problem is. Unfortunately, you do so without any facts to support your allegations about him. Everything I have seen suggests that he has used what some people consider extra-constitutional powers less than his predecessor and less than most recent Presidents. As for whether he takes actions more consistent with the Communist Manifesto -- that seems like more of a policy difference than an actual allegation of anything other than that you disagree with his policies. This is why I try extremely hard to stay away from these comments -- all too many of you have an unwillingness to debate the actual content and instead want to turn everything into an attack on the President. Have fun with that. Unfortunately for you, the American people spoke. Twice. And elected the man President. Based on how 2016 is shaping up, I'm leaning towards them electing another Democrat. Meanwhile, here in California the best the Republicans have to offer is Tim Donnelly. It's all too wonderful.
Gary W Smith May 11, 2014 at 10:04 pm
An actual reading of the decision indicates a Clinton appointee was among the affirming while aRead More Regan appointee was among the dissenting. The characterization of the appointments is irrelevant given the bench's many decisions by a range of appointees that confirm against the Constitution, not for it. It, unfortunately, all started with Marbury v. Madison with the court assuming powers it was not provided in Article 3. And as long as you want to hone in only on Obama objections as a negativism, no one that I can see excused the prior president's egregious decisions in any way-shape-for form. That Obama was elected twice has no relevance either given the movement of the elected ever to the left - when a Republican is elected, it is simply an indicator of moving away from the Constitution toward Collectivism slower; not the more direct speed of any Democrat/Progressive that occupies the office. The original contract of the Constitution was broken with the Seventeenth Amendment and has been proceeding away from the intent of a republic form of Government ever since. We would emulate Europe as if they have ever had an answer that moved people toward liberty, justice, pursuit of happiness and protection of property. And pursuing some 'ego-istic' attitude of 'Americans can do it better" is, per my surmise, the rationalism of Descartes taken to the ridiculous degree that we believe we can actualize Collectivism better than all the previous failed Collectivist nations. That is the shame of the whole activity and all the things wrought by both Republicans and Democrats over the last 90 years. A small P.S. - If you would like a list of some 32 actions that are unconstitutional by the current white house occupant, I would be glad to supply
