What Was the First Movie You Saw at 'The Dome'?

The iconic local theater faces destruction. Share your memories of the CinéArts 'dome' in Pleasant Hill.

Pleasant Hill's 'dome' theater has been an iconic part of Contra Costa County life since 1967, when the opening night show was "Doctor Zhivago".

Locals have grown up eating popcorn by the glow of its screens, and then gone on to bring their own children to the theater.

But now the CinéArts landmark, known as the 'dome', will be torn down for redevelopment of the shopping center. Pleasant Hill's mayor hints that there may be a possibility for relocation, but the building as it stands will no longer serve generations of local movie goers.
